Background Information 
Professional profile:

I practice in all areas of cardiology but with a particular interest in disorders of heart rhythm. Patients with these disorders may present with palpitations, chest pains, collapse, breathlessness, dizziness or fatigue.  A number of these patients can now be cured with either a procedure called catheter ablation, or with pacemakers. I am particularly interested in the treatment of atrial fibrillation, the commonest abnormal heart rhythm and the leading cause of stroke.

I qualified in 1994 and am fortunate to have trained at various London teaching hospitals including St Bartholomew's Hospital, St. George’s Hospital, London Chest Hospital and Royal London Hospital. My broad training includes angiography and transesophageal echocardiography, although I have then gone on to specialise further in cardiac electrophysiology. I was appointed consultant at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital in 2006.

Personal profile:

There is nothing like having young children to replace all your extra-curricular hobbies with cabbying them from one lesson to another. Having said that, I do try and play regularly at our local Cricket Club. I am also an enthusiastic Golfer though not a particularly skilled one. I enjoy cooking and am not above experimenting with ‘fusion’ of different cuisines (a mix of Chinese and Mexican anyone!)
