I have been a Consultant Paediatrician at Southend University Hospital NHS Trust since November 2005.
I graduated in 1984 and I practised family medicine and paediatrics in Bangladesh and Republic of Iran before commencing paediatric training in Republic of Ireland in 1991. I completed my General Professional Training in Paediatrics in Ireland over five years, working in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Drogheda.
Subsequently, I moved to the UK in 1996, underwent further training for four years in London, Kent and Essex hospitals and this included general paediatrics and neonatology.
I went on to work at Southend from 2000 for over four years, before moving to Cambridge Addenbrooke's Hospital to complete my UK higher specialist training for a year and obtained my CCT (certificate of completion of training)
I am a general paediatrician and my special interests are paediatric cardiology, neonates, neurodisability and neurodevelopment. I am also the district immunisation coordinator. Besides general paediatric clinics, I also run specialist clinics in Paediatric cardiology (in conjunction with the Royal Brompton), neurodevelopment, neorodisability and immunisation. I also look after children with special needs.
