Dr Wilson Bolsover trained in paediatrics in posts in London and Kent, including the Brompton, Hammersmith and St Thomas' Hospitals. He undertook research for his MD into the immunogenetics of celiac disease at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals. He was appointed as a consultant paediatrician at Pembury Hospital in 1992 where he has been responsible for neonatal services and paediatric oncology, although his professional interests span the whole range of paediatric medicine.

Since 2005 he has been Clinical Director for Paediatric Services at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.

Dr Bolsover has a strong commitment to medical education and training. He was the chair of the Specialist Training Committee for South London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex between 1998 and 2003. Since 2004 he has been the Assistant to the Officer for Higher Specialist Training at the RCPCH, where he was heavily involved in preparing for the introduction of Article 14. His second area of interest is clinical audit and governance. He was Associate Medical Director for Clinical Governance at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust for 5 years.

In his spare time Dr Bolsover enjoys motor boating along the south coast. He also enjoys the music of Bruce Springsteen.
