Founded in 2006, the Kent Endometriosis Centre (Kendoc) was set up to provide a multi-disciplinary approach aimed at total health care, including the impact of the disease and the effect of its treatment on the quality of life. Women with endometriosis have specific needs and deserve specialist care and support throughout their diagnosis, treatment and long term management

Kendoc also founded a Kent Endometriosis Patient Support Group run by a clinical nurse specialist for women suffering from endometriosis. The value of patient support groups has long been recognised. They are there to support, help, listen, advise and provide information for endometriosis sufferers and their families.
Many women with endometriosis have found that talking to others with the disease has helped them learn from their experiences, understand treatments and coping methods, and subsequently get a better understanding of endometriosis. There are patient support groups all over the world and by working together these support groups have become a powerful and effective force, working closely with doctors and scientists to further awareness and encourage research into endometriosis in the hopes of finding a cure and more effective ways of treating this debilitating disease.
The Kent support group meets four times a year, in the evening. It is an informal, relaxed evening where patients can discuss problems with each other or the professionals on hand. The meetings are for all teenagers and women that suffer from this disease and are free. They are held at the Spire Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Fordcombe. Please see our events page for date of our next support group.
