Ben Marshall was appointed as a consultant in respiratory and general medicine at Southampton University Hospital in March 2000. He trained at St Mary's Hospital Medical School, London, and qualified in 1988. His post-graduate training was based primarily in North Thames, although two years were spent in Southampton. He undertook his PhD at The National Heart and Lung Institute, London, studying novel TB vaccines.
