It has been an exciting start to the year with the introduction of a new Lynton laser which now offers a whole range of new treatments to compliment the existing treatments of hair reduction and thread vein treatments.

The fractional laser allows a skin resurface treatment which helps to give the skin a smooth, youthful and glowing appearance.  During the treatment minute sections of the skin are targeted with laser light to penetrate into the tissue, causing small columns of thermal damage which stimulates collagen renewal.  The treatment is suitable for most patients wanting a brighter, more even skin tone, smoother skin texture with improved elasticity, a reduction of wrinkles, reduced pore size and improvement to scars (including acne scars) and stretch marks.  From personal experience of currently having a course of fractional treatments I can advise that following the treatment it does feel a bit like sunburn for a few days and the skin can be red for a couple of days before it naturally exfoliates and flakes off.  My skin definitely feels much fresher, brighter and very smooth, I can highly recommend.

We have also been able to use the fractional laser to successfully treat both scars and stretch marks.  Pregnancy can often cause stretch marks which appear very red and raised; a course of fractional treatments can both reduce the redness and texture of both stretch marks and scars.

The new equipment also allows for the treatment of pigmentation, notably brown spots from sun exposure which creates a more youthful appearance.  So far we have treated many freckles and sun spots on the face, décolletage and hands very successfully.  Brown spots can be quite ageing so this treatment allows great rejuvenation and a much more flawless appearance.

We are also now able offer tattoo removal for the first time.  With so many people having tattoos that they may later regret we can now offer a treatment to help to remove.  The treatment works best on dark tattoos and does require several treatments and is not a quick fix but does offer a solution for those who want to remove an unwanted tattoo.
