Weight loss surgery at Spire Roding Hospital

Spire Roding Hospital offers comprehensive private hospital care to patients from Essex , East London and other parts of the south-east and greater London.

Our dedicated weight loss surgery team will support you before and after surgery

If you carry excess weight then losing weight can help to change your life. Our patients tell us that weight-loss surgery gives them the chance to do things they never thought possible. They have renewed zest for life with the energy and enthusiasm to play with their kids, play sports or even the confidence to go on a beach holiday.

At Spire Roding Hospital we have some of the most highly experienced specialist laparoscopic upper GI surgeons and gastroenterologists available - Mr Kesava Mannur, Mr Andrew Jenkinson and Dr Raymond D'Souza - with over 500 weight loss surgery procedures between them. Our multi-disciplinary approach helps to ensure that you are consistently supported throughout your treatment with us, and that you can access the right advice and support at the right time.

Research has shown that weight-loss surgery can be more effective in the long term than weight-loss drugs or diets for some patients. Spire Roding Hospital, Essex, offers safe and effective weight-loss surgery (also known as obesity surgery or bariatric surgery) in the form of gastric banding, gastric bypass, as well as other weight loss surgery options, including gastric ballooning and sleeve gastrectomy.

Surgery is only part of the solution - we also have a dedicated weight-loss surgery support team including a bariatric (weight-loss) specialist nurse and a dietician, who will all support you to follow lifestyle changes both before and after surgery.

All weight loss surgery is offered within a package which includes a full year’s follow up with our Roding bariatric team, including your consultant.

Free advice from your local experts

Spire Roding host regular free weight loss surgery information evenings, where people can come and hear more about their surgery options from experts they can trust. Visit our events page to find out when the next open evening is taking place, or email rosie.elston@spirehealthcare.com to register your interest for future events.

Stay local for your gastric band fills

If you've already had a gastric band fitted elsewhere (either within or outside the UK) and it needs to be filled, Spire Roding Hospital can help.

Our Radiology department can fill the band for you under xray control, at a cost of £250.

Patients wishing to use this service should contact the Radiology department at Spire Roding on 020 8709 7856.
