Mr Decadt finished his medical training in Belgium, he took up surgical training in South Africa and Manchester. Mr Decadt also undertook the first MD degree at the University of East Anglia in evidence based Laparoscopic surgery. He was appointed as a Consultant surgeon in 2005 at Stepping Hill Hospital. He has pioneered laparoscopic assisted cancer surgery for stomach and oesophagus in the North West. Mr Decadt is the Lead Consultant Surgeon for Upper GI Surgery for the Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. He regularly performs advanced laparoscopic and weight loss surgery both in the NHS practice and in the private sector. Mr Decadt's main interest is bariatric surgery.
