Joan trained at the Manchester Royal Infirmary School of Physiotherapy from 1966-1970. She undertook rotational posts at hospitals in Surrey and Cheshire before leaving to have a family. Since returning to physiotherapy, Joan worked for 10 years at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham where she gained experience in Hydrotherapy, bone tumours and general orthopaedic in-patient rehabilitation. Joan has worked at the Marie Curie Hospice in Solihull before coming to work at Parkway Hospital as a ward physiotherapist in 2000.
Joan has developed a keen interest in breast cancer and is currently involved in the development of a comprehensive breast service for patients eho have undergone breast cancer surgery.
Joan enjoys her job at Parkway and feels lucky to work with an excellent supportive team of physiotherapists. In her spare time, Joan loves to sing and is an avid performer of amateur musical theatre. Joan also enjoys cooking, walking and socialising.
