Clinical Neurophysiology is an allied specialty to Neurology. It is primarily concerned with investigating nerve disorders, muscle disorders and epilepsy. Common indications are the confirmation of carpal tunnel syndrome, other entrapment (trapping) nerve problems, peripheral neuropathy, myopathy and EEG investigation of epilepsy and other selected brain disorders. The diagnosis of these conditions are carried out using clinical examination and tests using specialised computer aided equipments.
