Professor Scott has extensive clinical experience in complex connective tissue diseases, particularly the primary systemic vasculitides and the use of complex medical treatment including immunosuppressive agents and biologic agents.

He also has a particular interest in inflammatory arthritis and its treatment and was responsible as immediate past president of the British Society for Rheumatology for introducing some guidelines and promoting a register for assessing outcome of patients on biologic treatments.
