Professional profile:
After graduating from Cambridge in 1991, I trained in trauma & orthopaedic surgery in Oxford, Cambridge & Norwich. In 2000 I obtained a Master of Surgery (MChir) degree, submitting a thesis on the causes of loosening of joint replacements. In 2002 I spent a year in Adelaide, South Australia, specialising in revision hip surgery, before being appointed as a Consultant in Norwich in 2003.

My main interest is in hip and knee replacement surgery, including revision operations.

In 2007 I was awarded the British & American Hip Societies Travelling Fellowship, visiting specialist hip surgery units throughout North America.
Personal profile:
I am married with three young children

I have always been a very keen sportsman, playing rugby & cricket to a reasonable standard. Unfortunately my days of really competitive sport are behind me but I continue to play social cricket, tennis & golf.
