Appointed as consultant cardiologist at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in July 2006, having previously been a consultant cardiologist in Lanarkshire, Scotland and before that in the RAF based within Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.

My role is primarily that of interventional cardiologist performing coronary angioplasty and stent insertion for the treatment of angina. However, I also have a broad interest in cardiology including the management of all aspects of ischaemic heart disease, heart failure, arrhythmia's and valvular heart disease.

Having completed my undergraduate training at St George's Hospital Medical School, London, I joined the RAF to undertake my general medical training. During this time I was detached to the RAF War Hospital in Bahrain for the first Gulf War and later as a consultant, served twice in the Military Hospital in Bosnia. Cardiology training was mainly undertaken at the John Radcliffe Hospital Oxford. In 1997 I was appointed as the only interventional cardiologist in the Armed Services. I left the RAF in 2000 and moved to Scotland where I worked as a Cardiologist in Lanarkshire to the south and east of Glasgow.

I am married with 2 children, 2 horses, 2 dogs, 1 cat and several chickens!
