Dr Tremelling qualified from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School, London in 1997 then started sub-speciality training in 2002 in the Eastern Deanery. He developed his interest in inflammatory bowel diseases whilst doing research at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge and has many research publications on the genetics of inflammatory bowel diseases. He gained his MD in 2000.
Dr Tremelling has been a consultant gastroenterologist at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital since February 2010 where he provides a service in general and specialist gastroenterology. He is clinical lead for inflammatory bowel disease and has expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy including gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy.
Dr Tremelling is married with 4 children (all boys). He was previously an extremely keen rugby player - having retired he is now a minis rugby coach. Dr Tremelling is a keen cyclist and also enjoys golf and playing the piano badly.
