She is a Consultant Ophthalmologist in West Yorkshire who specialises in cataract surgery and the treatment of glaucoma and is offering new surgical techniques, Selective laser trabeculoplasty, the latest micropulse laser treatment, micro incision cataract surgery with a particular interest in more complex and challenging cases and clear lens extraction.
She completed her training with a highly regarded Glaucoma Fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. She has authored chapters on Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty in medical texts and in peer reviewed journals. Madhu Nagar remains an active member of the medical research field and is internationally recognized as SLT expert and is a member of SLT International expert panel. She is regularly invited as a guest lecturer at international and national meetings presenting and discussing research findings and new techniques / treatments.
Ms Madhu Nagar MBBS, MS Ophth, FRCS Ophth (Ed) is a glaucoma specialist who offers new surgical techniques, Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty, the latest micro-pulse laser treatment for Glaucoma management and micro-incision cataract surgery and Clear Lens extraction for Refractive Cataract (Lens) surgery.
She is an experienced glaucoma and cataract surgeon, using local/topical anaesthesia and on-axis phacoemulsification as part of her technique. This technique reduces trauma to the eye and leads to faster healing and decreased post treatment complications.
She is also working on strengthening hospital links with the community.
She holds a substantive NHS consultant post with the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Trust and is the clinical lead for glaucoma. She sees private patients at the Spire Methley Park Hospital, Leeds.
She is also responsible for the local lectures course for Doctors, Nurses and Opticians.
