Specialist in Sport and Exercise Medicine
Dr Jones qualified as a Doctor in Liverpool in 1990. He has been actively involved in Sports Medicine across a variety of elite sports since. In 2000 he became accredited as a Specialist in Sports Medicine by all the major Private Health Insurance Companies.
He worked at the Commonwealth Games in 2002 and will be working as a senior Doctor at the London Olympics.
Between 2004 and 2010 he worked as Doctor to the National Academy of the Rugby Football Union. This role included test match responsibility for England U21s. He was involved in England Senior team preparation for the Rugby World Cup 2007.
He currently works at Liverpool Football Club and for the English Institute of Sport in Manchester. He has lead responsibility for British Gymnastics in the North West and also has a lot of boxers as his clients.
He is a Clinical Tutor on the Sport and Exercise Medicine MSc course at Bath University and Educational Supervisor for Sports Medicine trainees in Mersey Region.
