Mr Chapman was appointed as Consultant Coloproctologist to Good Hope Hospital in 1998 and has been consulting at Spire Little Aston Hospital since then. Currently, He is lead colorectal cancer clinician for HEFT. 

Mr Mark Chapman is also an honorary Senior Lecturer at Birmingham University. He trained at Cambridge University and the Royal London Hospital, and before being appointed to Good Hope, was lecturer in surgery at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. He was appointed a Hunterian Professor by the Royal College of Surgeons in 1998 for his research into colonic flora and inflammatory bowel disease. In 2000 he passed the European sub-specialty exam in coloprotology (EBSQ). 

Mr Chapman's interest and expertise lies in diagnosing and treating diseases of the colon, rectum and anus.
Personal profile:
Mr Mark Chapman is married to Susan, who runs his private practice. They have three children and live in Sutton Coldfield.

Outside medicine, his interests include opera, reading biographies and fine wine. He is also a keen cyclist (having cycled through most of Europe as a student), He enjoys running and is a commited christian.
