Jo Millward trained as a State Registered Nurse in North Warwickshire Hospitals 1977-1980. Her first Staff Nurse post was Paediatrics. For the majority of her nursing career she has worked in the cancer field.
Jo has worked in the palliative care setting as well as working as a chemotherapy/oncology nurse at Walsgrave Hospital within their Oncology Department.
Having studied cancer nursing to diploma level she decided to specialise in breast cancer. She became a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Breast Care in 2000 at Birmingham Heartlands and Solihull NHS Trust where she continued by studies and completed a Diploma in Breast Care at the Christie Hospital in Manchester. Jo joined Spire Hospitals in 2003 where she has developed a particular interest in breast reconstruction.
Jo is passionate about providing psyshological support and continuity of care throughout the patient journey to empower patients particularly when treatment choices and decisions need to be made.
Jo has a lovely grown up family so enjoys family occasions and times together. She likes walking her westie Poppy to keep fit. Jo particularly likes to get away to the North Devon Coast and France for relaxation and leisure times.
