Dr Nadar trained in medicine at the Christian Medical College, Vellore, India. This is one of the oldest and most prestigious medical schools in India. He worked in a rural christian mission hospital in India for four years before coming to the UK. He did a two year research programme with Professor Lip and Professor Beevers, at City Hospital, Birmingham and then did his specialist training in Cardiology and Interventional cardiology in the West Midlands. Dr Nadar has joined as a consultant Inteventional cardiologist at the Heart of England NHS trust, based at Good Hope Hospital, Sutton Coldfield. He is also the heart failure lead for Good Hope Hospital.
His work includes general cardiology and interventional cardiology. He performs coronary angiographies (to look at the nature of heart arteries), angioplasties (procedure to stretch blocked arteries with a balloon and stent), echocardiography and pacemakers. He also has an interest in hypertension (high blood pressure), management of palpitations and breathlessness.
Dr Nadar's extensive work experience, both in rural India and tertiary hospitals in the UK have given him a broad perspective of life and health in various settings. He pay's a lot of importance to preventive health.
He enjoys playing and watching sport especially cricket. He also enjoys adventure holidays and hopes to get the courage have a go at sky diving. In his spare time, he also likes to help out with activities in his local church and his children's school.
