Prostate cancer and benign prostate disease.

After qualifying from Cambridge University Mr Khan completed his basic surgical training on the Oxford rotation. He subsequently obtained his MD at the Royal Free Hospital before commencing his higher urology training in London. During his training he worked or two years at the Brady Urological Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Balitimore, USA. In his first year he undertook prostate cancer research and obtained his MS degree. The second year he worked as a Resident and obtained invaluable experience in major open surgery, laparoscopy and endourology. Mr Khan's time at Johns Hopkins consolidated his interests in both prostate cancer and minimally invasive surgery. To this end, he recently completed the British Urological Foundation Fellowship in brachytherapy for the management of clinically localised prostate cancer. He has also recieved training on laser prostate surgery for the management of benign prostate disease. Therfore, in summary, as well as an interest in general urology, he has a specilaist interest in the endoscopic management of stone disease and minimally invasive management of urological malignancy.

Mr Khan enjoys playing and watching football and cricket. He also enjoy's travelling abroad to gain a flavour of the different cultures around the world. When, on rare occasions, and having the time and oppurtunity he looks forward to attending the movies and theatre.
