Eye laser surgery

Spire Leicester Hospital was established in 1992, so we have many years experience in treating and caring for our patients. All of our eye surgeons are Leicester-based NHS consultant ophthalmologists and Fellows of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. They have experience of a wide range of eye diseases in addition to refractive problems. They regularly perform a variety of surgical operations on the eye in addition to laser procedures.

The assurance of a fully qualified Consultant Ophthalmologist

All of our nurses are qualified and are registered with the NMC (nursing and midwifery council). We can offer LASIK, LASEK and Artisan lens implant. So you can be assured you will be offered the most suitable treatment.

The same consultant will assess and treat you. Our trained optometrist will carry out routine follow ups but will refer you back to your consultant if at any stage they feel this is necessary. Right from your initial telephone enquiry, through to treatment and discharge the same dedicated team will look after you.

All treatments are carried out in a surgical theatre setting with the backup of a full medical team.

Spire Leicester Hospital adhere to the Standards for Laser Refractive Surgery as set out by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. These standards can be found on the Royal College of Ophthalmologists' website. We strongly recommend you read these before choosing your centre for laser treatment.
