    Mr Stephen Pollard is a consultant general surgeon and qualified at St George's, London in 1981. He joined as a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1986. His post graduate training took place in Nottingham, Cambridge and USA. 

    Mr Pollard developed interests in obesity surgery when appointed to a consultant position in Leeds in 1993. He participated in a fact finding sabbatical to an obesity unit in USA in 1993 and commenced a clinical programme in 1994. His current activity (NHS and Private) is 200 obesity operations per year with a total experience of over 2500 operations for obesity. Mr Pollard is also the clinical director in transplant surgery. He is one of the founder members of the British Obesity Surgical Society.
