Background Information 
Professional profile:
My background is in general obstetrics and gynaecology and reproductive medicine including all gynaecological endocrine problems. I have been qualified since 1967, being awarded an MD in 1977 from the University of Birmingham following two years of gynaecological endocrine research. My clinical training took place in the West Midlands and Oxford regions. I was appointed as consultant to the former Maternity and Women's Hospitals at Leeds and The General Infirmary at Leeds in 1978.

I have encouraged sub-specialty development within the unit. Along with my colleagues Mr A J Rutherford and Prof J O Drife, I set-up the Assisted Conception unit at the clarendon wing, obtaining initial grants from the Leeds Hospital Fund and the Special Trustees of the General Infirmary at Leeds in 1990.

I am a Senior Clinical Lecturer in obstetrics and gynaecology in the University of Leeds and have taken full part in post graduate training.
