Professional profile:

Mr David Berridge is the past secretary of the British Thrombolysis Study Group and the former Treasurer of the Venous Forum of the Royal Society of Medicine.

He is an examiner in fellowship and membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and an intercollegiate final examiner. Mr Berridge is a former council member and Honorary Treasurer of the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland (VSGBI). He served on the Audit and Research Committee of the VSGBI and was responsible for its website. He is the current Secretary of the Venous Forum of the Royal Society of Medicine.

Mr Berridge is a past member of an international consensus group on thrombolysis. His specialty interests include all arterial, venous and lymphatic diseases. Surgery includes carotid endarterectomy, upper and lower vascular reconstruction, arterial aneurysm repair (aortic, femoral and popliteal). Other interests in venous surgery are primary and secondary sclerotherapy.

Mr Berridge is also interested in the management of venous ulcer disease, varicose veins and the post phlebitic leg.
