Professional profile:
I studied my fellowship in Medical Retina at the University of Nijmegan in the Netherlands under the care of Professor Deutman and Professor Cruysberg. Working with the team in medical genetics, age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and uveitis. I studied my Fellowship in Edinburgh, FC Ophthalmology in London, my Diploma in Ophthalmology in Ireland and Glasgow. My basis training at Senior House Officer at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield and at Registrar level at Stobhill Teaching Hospital, Glasgow. Senior Registrar training was at the University of Nijmegan Radboud Teaching Hospital and I was a Consultant in the Netherlands for 13 years.

I have been working as a Consultant Ophthalmic surgeon at Hull Royal Infirmary from February 2003. My sub-speciality is medical retina. I have recently developed photodynamic therapy in Hull for wet age related macular degeneration and I am involved with the co-ordination of improvement of the diabetic screening service in the region.

My surgical experience includes over one thousand cataract operations, glaucoma drainage procedures, and eyelid corrections including over 200 blepharoplastys, squint surgery and dacrycysto-rhinostomy. I also have a wide range of laser therapy to treat a range of retinal diseases.
Personal profile:
My wife is a doctor in paediatrics and we have three children at school.
