I am a trained colorectal and upper gastrointestinal surgeon with an interest in open and laparoscopic surgery. Qualified from Edinburgh University in 1989 and have had experience in teaching at the University, Accident and Emergency, Neurosurgery, Intensive Care in addition to General Surgery. I have experience in major War and Trauma surgery and have taught on trauma courses at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and in Emergency Surgery in The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Present surgery that is carried out is a wide spectrum of laparoscopic procedures including gallbladder, reflux and hernia procedures. I have experience in endoscopic procedures whether of bowel or upper gastrointestinal tract – both diagnostic and interventional.
Married with children. We enjoy a rural setting. I have an active and adventurous life and enjoy horse riding (including endurance and occasional polo), running, hill-walking and cycling.
