I have been a consultant gynaecologist at Addenbrookes Hospital since 1998. I took extra training in gynaecological cancer and am accredited as a gynaecological oncologist. I have a vast experience in managing women with gynaecological problems especially pre-malignant and malignant or cancer conditions. I also run a regional genetics clinic for women who have a family history of cancer.
My surgical expertise is wide and have special expertise in minimal access or keyhole surgery. I have lectured nationally and internationally on laparoscopic surgery and have run many training courses. I am actively working with several companies in new developments.
I provide many aspects of office gynaecology allowing the patient to take advantage of the latest techniques without the need for a general anaesthetic. I am pioneering the use of single port surgery allowing laparoscopic surgery to be performed through one tiny incision. My research portfolio includes work in the human papilloma virus field and epidemiology with over 30 publications since 2008.
I enjoy cooking and fine wine in my spare time. Although, Cambridge is flat I try and go to the mountains several times a year whether in the winter for skiing or the summer for walking. I like travelling and have a penchant for crime novels. I speak German and some French and threaten to learn some Chinese!
