I am a Consultant Hand and Upper Limb Surgeon, based at the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust. I see and treat all aspects of musculo-skeletal conditions affecting the hands, wrists, and elbows, whether inflammatory, wear-and-tear arthritis or sports injury related.
I qualified in 1991 and successfully completed my higher surgical training in the North East of England, subsequently undertaking fellowship posts in New Zealand, specialising in shoulder/elbow and wrist/hand surgery, before becoming a consultant at Sunderland Royal Hospital in 2006.
I have a continued interest in undergraduate education and during my appointment as a consultant in the North East I accepted a post as Associate Lecturer at Newcastle University Medical School.
Originating from the South East, I have been fortunate enough to relocate to Sussex and use my previous experience to establish a regional hand service for the Brighton and Sussex area, whilst continuing to contribute to postgraduate and undergraduate medical training.
I have over six years’ experience as a consultant and previously established a successful and thriving private practice, based at Spire Washington Hospital.
I offer one-to-one consultations and elective treatments and surgeries for all aspects of upper limb conditions and injuries.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Ms Lisa Tourret at Spire include:

As a keen sports competitor, I understand the importance of physical wellbeing to achieve a healthy work/life balance.
My interests include long-distance running, cycling, cross-training, as well as hiking and camping.
I continue to raise money for charity, competing in half and full marathons, finding that events are a great motivator.
I have travelled extensively around the world; although equally enjoy exploring closer to home and spending time with family and friends.
