I have 15 years of experience in Laparoscopic Colorectal surgery including surgery for colon cancer. I am an expert colonoscopist and have been trained in Europe in the most advanced treatments of colonic polyps including colonoscopic full thickness colonic biopsy for colonic polyps. I also perform the full range of laparoscopic procedures in general surgery including Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy for the treatment of gallstones and Laparoscopic Hernia repair
I was schooled and trained in Edinburgh under Professor Sir David Carter and Professor Sir Patrick Forrest. I completed my specialist colorectal training in London under Professor Devinder Kumar. I am the Senior Colorectal Surgeon at Western Sussex NHSFT. I am a world leader and international trainer in Trans Anal Minimally Invasive Surgery (TAMIS) for Rectal Polyps and Trans Anal Total Mesorectal Excison (TaTME) Rectal Cancer. I trained in Bordeaux in open inguinal hernia repair under Mr Chastang.
I have maintained an ongoing interest in leadership and training and has recently been awarded the NHS Leadership Academy, Nye Bevan certificate of Executive Leadership.

The Montefiore Hospital is only able to provide Covid-19 tests to patients undergoing surgery at our hospital. Covid-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service.

I moved to West Sussex in 1993. My family have grown up in West Sussex where they enjoy all that the county has to offer including sailing, water skinning and swimming. My wife Liz and I like to keep fit, and we have competed together in Sprint Triathlon in the spring and ski together in the winter.
