I am currently the lead Head and Neck Cancer Specialist Dietitian at Southend Hospital. I have been with the hospital for 10 years, starting with general patients and conditions, building experience with common medical conditions (over weight/underweight) specialising in nutritional advice for a number of dietary concerns. I am also a qualified chef, so I am able to plan menus offering targeted nutritional advice.
While I specialise in advice for patients with cancer, guiding and supporting them through their treatment, these skills also translate to support a number of conditions including weight gain/loss, irritable bowel syndrome, healthy eating with diabetes, coeliac disease, diets for the elderly, emphysema (COPD), cardiac health, menu ideas and cooking skills. I also do group presentations.
I have performed numerous consultations with both in and outpatients, with different medical conditions and dietary concerns.
I am the Joint Student (Trainer) Lead and am the BDA representative for the dietetics department at Southend Hospital. I am also the lead Oncology Dietitian at Southend Hospital.
I am a qualified chef with 10 years experience working in restaurants and hotels. These skills allow me to better support my patients. I am a qualified Yoga Teacher, teaching meditation and supporting mindfulness.
I also run meditation classes supporting people new to meditation, building and advising on approaching their own practice. I run classes at Southend Hospital for staff and privately at yoga studios.

Diet, nutrition and health all play a key role for me. My day-to-day is supporting patients with their nutritional concerns. My own cooking skills aid me to follow a healthy balanced diet, including treats. My yoga practice helps me unwind and lends balance to my life. I am an active listener and enjoy good conversation.
