Professional profile

I have been a General Practitioner with a special interest in Diabetes since 2005. For a number of years I have trained GP's across the country in Diabetic Management. I am currently the co-programme Director of the EDEN Project in association with Leicester Diabetes Centre and University of Leicester, (Effective Diabetes Education Now) this programme is a bespoke Diabetes education course designed especially for GP's, nurses and diabetes specialist dietitians. The purpose of this course is to up-skill health care professionals and to promote clinical excellence in diabetes.

I have been working as a partner at the Jones Family Practice as a GP Principal Partner. I am also a GP trainer and GP educator and allied health care professionals who are interested in diabetes management. I have been heavily involved in educating GP's and health care professionals across the country with the latest advancements, international guidelines (EASD and ADA) and innovative developments in type II diabetes treatments.

I specialise in type II diabetes management with complexities and co-morbidities using innovative new therapies, particularly in obese type II diabetics. Due to my background of training in internal medicine I am able to deal with other diseases associated with diabetes such as heart failure and chronic kidney disease.

I am the Senior Partner at the Jones Family Practice. I am also Medical Director of Essex Medical Society.
