Following bariatric surgery at Spire Washington Hospital, Jana Melody Appleby was kind enough to share her story with us…
We welcome your views on our website and invite you to take part in a brief survey when you've finished your visit.
Your response will help us improve the site and the experience we offer to visitors.
Loved ones play a vital role in recovery.
We think your friends, family and children can help speed up recovery, so they're all very welcome to visit you. We offer flexible visiting hours between 8am and 9pm so they can drop in to visit you almost any time that you’re feeling up to it. Your guests are also welcome to try our award-winning food.
At Spire Washington we operate an open visitor's policy between the hours of 8am and 9pm. However, it may be possible to organise a visit outside these times if prior arrangements have been made with the nurse in charge.
If a friend or family member accompanies you here they are welcome to remain in your room while you have your procedure. Visitors may be asked to leave your room during specific treatments or procedures and if the nursing staff feel you need a rest.
You can choose a family member to be contacted by a nurse on the ward once you are back from theatre. If this is what you would like, please let a member of staff know as well as providing their contact details.
Tea and coffee is available to your visitors in your room. You can order food for your visitors through your ward hostess; this will be changed to your account.
Recognising the needs of every individual, all of our hospitals and centres are accessible to everybody, so we welcome visitors with disabilities. Spire Healthcare takes its responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 as employers and service providers very seriously.
Our goal is to recognise the needs of every individual and to provide health and care services that are appropriate, respectful, inclusive and equal. We always try to meet the needs of any visitor to our buildings. We provide patient information in a variety of formats, including large print and audio versions, and we seek to ensure that our buildings, access routes, signage and lighting meet the needs of people with disabilities.
Children are always welcome in our hospital and they can visit you whenever you like.
