Professional profile

I have been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon for 12 years and for the last 7 years my elective practice has been 100% devoted to surgery of the knee. My other interest is trauma surgery particularly the management of patients with fragility fractures.

All aspects of knee surgery in all age groups including arthroplasty, ligament reconstruction and meniscal surgery. General trauma surgery in all age groups.

To date I have performed over 1200 knee replacements, over 400 ACL reconstructions and over 1500 arthroscopies.

I am orthopaedic trauma lead at City Hospitals Sunderland and chair the BOA trauma group.

Personal Profile

My main interests outside of work include rugby (watching and coaching), skiing and sailing (fair weather only). I also love the Lake District and try to get there as often as possible to either walk or get on my bike.
