Specialises in
I have held an NHS consultant post within the specialist field of foot health since 2010. I operate on the foot and ankle, following extensive diagnostic tests and conservative (non-surgical) treatment options.
As a foot and ankle specialist I provide conservative care and surgery for pathologies including skin, soft tissue and bone. Surgery for bone pathologies include, arthroplasty, arthrodesis, osteotomy, cheilectomy, joint replacements and digital amputations. For soft tissues I undertake a range of procedures including soft tissue lumps and bumps (fibroma, ganglion, cyst excision), tendon surgery, nerve surgery: neuroma/tarsal tunnel decompression, heel bumps, and skin lesions.
My career in podiatric medicine exceeds 30 years working across the local community in South East London, Sussex and Kent in both NHS and private practice. I currently hold an NHS contract as a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon at Essex Partnership NHS Trust seeing children and adults with a wide range of foot problems, including skin lesions, heel pain, great toe pain/bunions/arthritis, toenail pathologies, toe problems/hammer toes, neuroma, and recurring foot pain.
I undertake 360 appraisals within my surgical colleague network and patient group, and contribute to the consultant appraisal process. I am annotated as a podiatric surgeon on the regulatory body website which provides governance and assurance of meeting the 19 standards of podiatrists practicing podiatric surgery.
I am recognised as a leader in the foot health field and specialise in extended scope podiatric medicine and podiatric surgery – this covers the foot and associated structures. I am also a registered tutor of the Royal College of Podiatry, and the first female Dean of the Faculty of Podiatric Surgery (2017-2022).
