I am dual accredited in general (internal) medicine and gastroenterology. I am one of only two consultants in Tunbridge Wells accredited to perform colonoscopy on the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme. I also offer a new pain free investigation of the bowel using a pill-size camera to investigate internal problems. Capsule endoscopy is available to both insured and uninsured patients.
I trained at University College and Middlesex School of Medicine, London, gaining a BSc in anatomy and neurosciences before graduating in 1993. I completed my general medical training in Poole, Dorset and returned to London and South East Thames to complete my specialist training at the Kent and Sussex, Guy's and St Thomas', King's College and Lewisham Hospitals. I have now been appointed Chief of Medicine and Emergency Care for the NHS.
I have been a consultant at the Tunbridge Wells hospital since December 2008 where I head a department of eight gastroenterologists and am happy to receive referrals on all aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology, including small bowel pathology and nutrition.
