I see children and adults of all age groups. Majority of my clients are seen for hearing and/or balance investigation (video-nystagmography and caloric testing) and hearing aid prescription.
Jay is specialist in hearing and balance disorders. He has a doctorate degree in audiology and more than 10 years of experience of working in both NHS and private sector in United Kingdom. Before moving to Kent three years ago, he lived in London and worked in most of the major speciality and super speciality hospitals there. This included Great Ormond Street Hospital, Royal National ENT Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital, Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital and St George's Hospital etc. He has also worked in various private settings including Harley Street, Wellington hospital and London Bridge hospital.
In his NHS practice, he currently leads a team of paediatric audiologists with Kent Community Health. His audiology services are well recognised in the area. In fact, for his contribution to audiology, he won the audiologist of the year award by an independent charity called Kent Deaf Childrens Society in 2013.
He is also member of Kent Community Healths trustwide Fall prevention committee and clinical audit subgroup. Jay is a member of the prestigious national level Service Quality Committee of British Academy of Audiologists (BAA). This committee has a role to monitor and maintain the standards of audiology practice throughout the UK via the largest body of audiolgists ie BAA.
Jay has a keen interest in academics and research. He has various national and international publications to his credit. He is often asked to deliver lectures at various national and international conferences, seminars etc. He has been involved in organising various audiology related courses regularly.
Professional Development Consultant for British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists (BSHAA): April 2015 to current BSHAA is the professional body of Hearing Aid Audiologists with 1,600+ members. My role with the Society is to lead the professional development agenda of the membership. This challenging task involves the strategic planning and implementation of the professional development activities, organising events and meetings, and networking to endorse the Society’s agenda.
Paediatric Audiology Team Leader at West Kent Children's Hearing Service of Kent Community Health NHS Trust: March 2012 to April 2015. This role involved managing the clinical and strategic sides of the paediatric audiology service in West Kent and Medway at the same time of providing clinical services (hearing assessment and habilitation) to 0-16 years of age groups.
.Paediatric (0-16 years) and adult audiology. Electrophysiological assessment (auditory brainstem responses and otoacoustic emissions) . Hearing aid prescription including bone conduction hearing aids. Vestibular function and Falls assessment (VNG, Calorics etc). Central auditory processing disorder assessment in children (7+ years) and adults. Ear protection consultancy and devices (music plugs, noise plugs, swim plugs, sleeping plug for snoring noise protection etc). Tinnitus assessment .Special clinical interests: Vestibular assessment and Falls. Hearing aid prescription
