Professional profile

I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in the management of all spinal conditions.

I completed my training as a spinal surgeon at the world leading spinal centre in Oxford, undertaking a prestigious one year advanced spinal fellowship giving comprehensive training in all aspects of cutting edge spinal surgery. This was followed by a further year as a consultant at the Oxford Spinal Unit. I graduated from Southampton Medical School in 1993 and undertook my specialist registrar orthopaedic surgical training on the Hampshire rotation, considered nationally as one of the best training schemes. I am a Consultant Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgeon at Heatherwood and Wexham Park NHS Trust.

I have a spinal practice that covers all elements of spinal surgery throughout the lumbar, cervical and thoracic spine. This includes back and neck pain, sciatica, microdiscectomy, spinal decompression, spinal fusion, balloon kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty, minimally invasive surgery, disc replacement, spinal fusions, deformity, degenerative conditions, epidurals, facet joint injections and nerve root blocks.

I have published extensively and presented papers at both national and international meetings. I am also regularly asked to teach on spinal training programs throughout London and the South. I also provide trauma and spinal surgical support to the British Forces, holding the rank of Surgeon Commander and was one of two British trauma and orthopaedic surgeons and the sole spinal surgeon deployed to camp Bastion, Afghanistan for three months in the summer of 2011.
