Mr Malik Moiz

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

MBBS, FRCSEd, FRCSEd.(Tr.&Orth.)

Specialises in

I am an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in problems of the hip and knee. I have been a Consultant in the NHS for 18 years and have practiced Orthopaedics in the UK for over 28 years.

My Orthopaedic training was completed in the South Trent region, where I developed an expertise in treating the hip and knee and attained FRCSEd (Tr & Orth). In 2001, I was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge and later on appointed at Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals.

I have completed an international fellowship in Toronto, Canada with world-renowned Orthopaedic Surgeon, Professor Joseph Schatzker (author of several principle Orthopaedic textbooks). Under Professor Schatzker, I became skilled in advanced techniques to manage trauma and perform complex joint replacements.

I am an accomplished Advanced Trauma Life Support instructor, surgical trainer, part-time lecturer in bio engineering and national selector of Orthopaedic trainees.

Living with long term hip pain and/or knee pain can have a significant impact on psychological as well as physical wellbeing. I provide an experienced assessment for all my patients, explaining the latest treatment options and helping to form a personalised plan in collaboration with them. Ultimately, I strive to improve my patient’s quality of life through reduction in pain, improvement in mobility and a return to normal daily activities.

I am a general orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in hip and knee replacement. I have worked in East Anglia and did specialty training in Leicester as well as completing a year's fellowship in Toronto, Canada. I have been a consultant for the past nine years.

I perform hip and knee replacements regularly for osteoarthritis, knee arthroscopy frequently for meniscal (cartilage) tears, and anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction where indicated following a knee injury.
