Professional profile

I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals, part of The Imperial College School of Medicine, University of London. I specialises in arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery of the Shoulder, Elbow and Wrist, as well as upper limb trauma.

I graduated from the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guys and St Thomas Hospital, University of London. I specialised in Registrar training on the Kent, Surrey and Sussex rotation (Guys, Kings and St Thomas Hospitals).

I underwent further specialist fellowship training in Shoulder surgery at the world renowned Cape Shoulder Institute in Cape Town, South Africa as well as at the Epsom Shoulder Unit in Surrey, UK. In addition, I also completed a fellowship in hand and upper limb reconstruction at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, USA. In addition to my surgical qualifications, I have a Masters degree in Orthopaedic Engineering and my thesis was centered on the management of complex elbow fractures.

I offer a One-Stop Shoulder Clinic whereby patients will receive a consultation, diagnostic ultrasound scan (carried out by me) and treatment all in one session. Where appropriate, I inject the shoulder under ultrasound guidance thus improving its accuracy and efficacy. Dynamic Ultrasound is highly sensitive in the diagnosis of rotator cuff disorders and avoids some of the problems associated with MRI scanning including claustrophobia and interference with metal hardware, pacemaker etc.

My clinical practice is entirely evidence-based and the treatment I offer is based on current best evidence and latest research as well as the individual needs of the patient. I have an active interest in scientific research and has published widely in international peer review journals. I lecture nationally and internationally on topics relating to the shoulder to other Orthopaedic surgeons and General Practitioners.
