Mr Jamie Buchanan
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon
I am an orthopaedic surgeon with a wide range of experience and particular interest in all arthroscopic procedures (keyhole surgery) and surgery of the shoulder and elbow and hand.
I qualified from St Mary's Hospital, London in 1986 and trained in orthopaedics through the Westminster and St Mary's Hospital programmes. After passing the Orthopaedic Fellowship exam in 1995, I spent a year in Perth, Australia, in a specialist sports medicine centre, where I gained extensive experience in arthroscopy and surgery of the shoulder and elbow.
My interests were further developed at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, where I spent a year in 1997.
I was appointed a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Conquest Hospital, Hastings, in 1998.
