Professional profile

I have been a consultant paediatric surgeon working in London since 2011. I spent six years at St George’s University Hospitals and I am now a consultant specialist neonatal and paediatric surgeon at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.

I qualified as a specialist paediatric surgeon in 2006 at the University of Padova, Italy. I then worked for four years at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, USA achieving excellent skills in neonatal, oncologic, transplant and minimally invasive surgery for children.

I hold a PhD in Developmental Biology from the University of Padova and I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London (UCL). My main research focuses are on necrotising enterocolitis in premature babies, minimally invasive surgical techniques, oncology and neonatal surgical outcomes. I have published many articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented my research at international meetings all around the world.

My neonatal practice is based at Great Ormond Street only and not Spire St Anthony's Hospital.
