Professional profile

I was appointed as consultant radiologist with a special interest in obstetrics and gynaecological imaging and was one of the first radiologists to introduce transvaginal scanning 2D and 3D.

I initiated an infertility gynaecological imaging service at Queen Mary's Roehampton where each patient receives a Transvaginal ultrasound and HSG performed at the same time by the same operator to give a streamlined, efficient and truly comprehensive pathway. I regularly audit my work and have proved it is possible to perform HSGs at a fraction of the National Dose Reference Level. I am particularly keen to ensure patients are dealt with calmly and gently, and to give reassuring explanations of the techniques I use so patients understand what is involved and how these high resolution images form an integral part of their diagnostic pathway.

I also have a special interest in DEXA scanning for bone density assessment which investigates the presence of osteopenia and osteoporosis and guides and monitors the treatment of this increasingly prevalent condition. I also undertake general and urological ultrasound and report plain films.

I specialise in general radiology with a specific interest in gynaecological imaging and DEXA scanning currently being lead radiologist for the latter at two hospitals.

I perform approximately 2,500 examinations per annum.
