I trained in general and respiratory medicine at Charing Cross Hospital, the Royal Brompton Hospital and St George’s Hospital London. I now work solely in private practice.
I was Lead Clinician for respiratory medicine and lung cancer at St George’s Hospital and was Director of Training for General Medicine both at St George’s and in the South West Thames Region. In addition, I was Lead Clinician in South West Thames for tuberculosis and also the lead clinician for Lung cancer in South West Thames. I led the development of specialist services at St George's in many aspects of respiratory medicine including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, sarcoidosis, sleep disorders and tuberculosis, bronchoscopy and endobronchial therapy.
My research interests have covered aspects of cancer, including presentation of patients with cancer, thromboembolic disease, and respiratory infection including bronchiectasis, chronic obstructive airways disease and tuberculosis. In addition I have undertaken studies in sleep medicine, asthma and sarcoidosis. More recently I have completed a study on patients with disordered breathing.
