The Spire Specialist Care Centre are delighted to have partnered with Check4Cancer to offer you dedicated skin clinics at our cancer centre. Available bi-weekly, you can book yourself an appointment if you have any skin concerns, whether it's a mole that has changed shape, or you have noticed something's not quite right and want to put your mind at ease.

Skin check is suitable for men and women of any age, and appointments are approximately 30 minutes.

Here's what our partner Check4cancer advise

Over 100,000 people are diagnosed with skin cancer each year in the UK and over 2,800 die of the disease. Despite most moles being normal and healthy, a small number can change into melanoma and detecting these changes early can save lives.

Skin cancer affects both men and women and the biggest cause is from UV rays from the sun or sun beds. Men and women are affected on different parts of the body as illustrated below:

What is SkinCheck?

SkinCheck starts with an online risk assessment examining the personal risk of skin cancer followed by a 30 minute consultation with a skin specialist nurse comprising:

  • A review of the risk assessment
  • Complete skin examination using Dermoscopy and SIAscopy (looking deep into the layers of the skin)
  • Tuition in what to look out for
  • Lesion by lesion result letter

After the appointment we issue the result letter and personalised early detection programme. Should an employee be considered high risk, they will be referred to their GP or a consultant dermatologist or plastic surgeon for further assessment and investigation.
