In 2002 Gary graduated from University Wales Institute Cardiff with a Post graduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics. Since then he has been working as the Surgical Lead Dietitian in the University Hospital of Wales Cardiff. He has a vast range of clinical experience in a variety of areas including managing patients with cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, coeliac disease, irritable bowel syndrome and post gastrointestinal-surgery. He has an extensive interest in cancer and gastroenterology disorders and in March 2015 he completed training in the management of IBS using the low FODMAP diet. His clinical experience and specialist interests means he keeps up to date on the latest dietary strategies. In addition to running his own private practice at Spire Specialist Care Centre, Spire Cardiff Hospital and Spire Bristol Hospital, he continues to work as the Macmillan UGI Dietitian in the University Hospital of Wales. He is registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC) and a member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA).
