Who we are
We are one of the largest private hospital groups in the UK. We treat more than one million patients a year at our network of 39 hospitals and many clinics across the UK. Spire International, a division of Spire Healthcare, is charged with co-ordinating and delivering the healthcare needs of patients who are travelling from abroad for medical treatment. We work closely with medical referrers or sponsors including country embassies, country health offices and military offices, sports teams, private corporate companies, companies specialising in repatriation to the UK and consultancy companies handling international medical care.
International services
Our international team works hard to make the whole process as smooth as possible for our global patients.
Patients are assisted by Spire’s administrative team every step of the way. The first consultation as an outpatient is arranged at a time to suit the patient and most of our hospitals offer over 100 clinics a week, from early morning to late evening.
We can usually offer the services of an international liaison team. This normally includes:
- a team of co-ordinators to provide information\interpretation services - multi-lingual speakers (Arabic and a wide range of other languages)
- transport assistance
- advice on accommodation for visitors and relatives
- local knowledge to help visitors organise their trip.
Supporting your care with first-class facilities
A multi-disciplinary medical team is on each site, using some of the latest technology and practicing some of the most advanced treatments in a number of our hospitals.
Your treatment will be tailored around you, with your choice of surgeon, location and timing. You'll be given your own immaculate, private room with all the comforts and conveniences you'd expect to find in your own home while you recover - complete with en-suite facilities, TV, WiFi and award-winning food.
We have flexible visiting hours, so friends and family can visit you almost any time.
We’re pleased to report that our patients are happy with their experience with us - in 2014 we had a 98% patient satisfaction rate.

Your treatment will performed in one of our 39 modern, well-equipped hospitals staffed by a full range of medical specialists.
Each hospital has the latest generation imaging, diagnostic and treatment equipment. This means we can offer everything from screening and rehabilitation through to leading-edge surgical procedures and excellence is specialist fields, like orthopaedics, cardiology and cancer care.
Spire Southampton Hospital is within easy access of all major London airports, and is a short drive from Southampton Airport.
We take pride in the cleanliness of all our facilities – each hospital has its own infection control nurse, which has helped us to achieve a 0% MRSA bloodstream infection rating in 2014.
