Having been an orthopaedic consultant for over 20 years and specialising in paediatric orthopaedics, this has become my primary clinical and research focus. I am a co-founder of the International Hip Dysplasia Institute, a former member of the council of the British Orthopaedic Association, member of several influential working groups, and widely published in leading peer-reviewed international journals. I give lectures to international audiences by invitation including keynote lectures at major conferences worldwide. I'm involved with research and development within the University and the Trust.

My current research interests include Vitamin D deficiency in children and developmental hip dysplasia, being conducted via the International Hip Dysplasia Institute ( - I am one of the founder members.

I am a board member of the recently formed International Perthes’ Study Group, based in Texas, and currently involved in multiple research projects relating to Legg Calvé Perthes’ disease (LCPD).

I have over 100 papers published in leading peer-reviewed academic journals on all aspects of paediatric orthopaedics.
