Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mrs Patricia Robertson at Spire include:
Patricia qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist, with a first class degree, from the University of Southampton. She also won the University’s Roger Briggs award in 2008 for best overall performance. After completing her junior placements in the private sector and NHS, she specialised in Musculoskeletal Outpatients in an NHS hospital. During this time she developed a specific expertise in the hand, wrist and elbow; working closely with two orthopedic consultants. Since leaving the NHS in 2014, to enter private practice, Patricia has treated patients with problems affecting all areas of the musculoskeletal system. This has included extending her knowledge in the hand, wrist and elbow to the treatment of the sporting population. She has also continued to develop her skills within Hydrotherapy. She is the lead hydrotherapist at Perfrom enjoying using the properties of water for rehabilitation of a variety of chronic and acute conditions. Patricia is able to offer a variety of treatment options such as manual therapy, K-Tape, dynamic taping, soft tissue release, acupuncture, hand splinting and graded exercises on land or water; Pilates based exercises and electrotherapy are also be used. This collaborative approach with all her patients ensures the best possible outcomes. A patient recently made the following comment: “The few times that I have previously needed physiotherapy has always left me a feeling that nothing much has been achieved, but your most delightful method of instruction, expertise and encouragement has certainly changed my thinking.” CF Patricia attributes her success in Physiotherapy to having had a successful career in business prior to re-training as a Physiotherapist. She brings energy, enthusiasm and valuable communication skills to the role. Out of work she enjoys swimming, cycling and running and occasionally puts them all together to compete in triathlons. Patricia is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. She is also a member of the British Association of Hand Therapists, the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists and Aquatic Therapy Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
