Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mrs Mel South at Spire include:
Rehabilitation of lower limp
Gait lab assessments
After completing my junior rotations in Kent, I worked in New Zealand for 6 months, specialising in out patients. In 1999, I began my role as ESP physiotherapist for foot & ankle conditions at Southampton General Hospital, where I worked very closely with the foot & ankle surgeons. As part of my role there, I also worked with hip & knee consultants, and was part of the orthopaedic triage service. My interest in Sports injuries has led me to work with various sports, such as fencing, Hants rugby, Solent Stars basketball team, an ice hockey team, as well as individual sportsmen and women. My fascination with biomechanics has enabled me to run the gait lab here at Spire with our podiatry team.
I specialise in lower limb disorders, with a specialist interest in the foot & ankle. I also see many paediatric, post operative patients.
