Spire South Bank's charities of the year receive over £3,000

22 October 2019

Worcester charities Maggs Day Centre and Worcester Snoezelen were nominated as Spire South Bank’s ‘Charities of the Year’ because of their fantastic work that benefits a cross section of people within the region.

During the summer, teams from the hospital took on demanding sporting challenges to raise funds for the charities, including a ‘100k in a day’ cycle ride from Spire South Bank Hospital to Spire Bristol Hospital, the ‘Race to the Dragon’ race on the river Severn and the Worcester City 10k race.

Recently, members of staff were delighted to present cheques to Maggs Day Centre and Worcester Snoezelen with the amounts raised which totalled over £3,400.

Tom Ryder, Hospital Director said: “The team have gone above and beyond to raise money for these worthwhile charities and I am very proud of both teams’ achievements and the amount raised."

He added: "Supporting the local community where our patients and staff live and work is very important to us.”
